The endless lockdowns have resulted in economic hardships that have left many in dire need of daily essentials. 

However, all a less fortunate man named Shin wanted was a birthday cake to celebrate his mother’s birthday who happens to be a person with disabilities (PwD).

Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng took to his Twitter to share this touching story.

Received a different request yesterday.

Instead of asking for for aid/supplies, this person was asking if i could help him buy a cake for his mother, kebetulan today is her birthday.

I asked if he wanted anything else, he just wanted to buy a cake for the mother, nothing else

Before the MCO, Shin and his elder brother used to work to support their small family but it came to a halt when Shin was diagnosed with spinal tumour and MCO was implemented again.

According to Lim, Shin just wanted to do something for his mother. 

“I asked if he wanted anything else, he just wanted to buy a cake for his mother, nothing else.” Lim added. 

“I hope my small gift helps,” Lim tweeted.
