This is a call for concern as another PPV located at Setia City Convention Centre (SCCC) has reported seven of their staff members testing positive.

The cases were detected on 11th July and prompt action was taken by reporting the situation to the Ministry of Health (KKM), according to the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF).

The SCCC management immediately sanitised the areas involved in the incident.

“For everyone’s information, the CITF has adopted standard operating procedures (SOP) in all PPVs from the beginning, including the SCCC PPV,” CITF said in the statement.

Close contacts were instructed to get tested and undergo self-isolation.

Thankfully all of them were found to have tested negative.

“Among the SOPs is that the SCCC PPV management must ensure that the instructions and rules in the Covid-19 Risk Control Programme are complied with, such as physical distancing and monitoring the staff and volunteers involved on an ongoing basis if there are symptoms.”

“SCCC PPV staff also underwent body temperature measurements before starting work on a daily basis, were required to wear masks and were encouraged to wear face shields while on duty.” they added.

Allegations were thrown regarding Covid-19 patients being present at the SCCC, but the CITF informed that the vaccine recipients who are in the category of Covid-19 patients and have passed the quarantine period were allowed to get vaccinated with proof of their ‘Home Release Order’ issued by the District Health Centre.

“CITF will continue to ensure that all PPVs comply with the guidelines provided as well as carry out proper SOP practices to ensure that there is no risk of infection in any PPV, especially at a time when the virus is now spreading within the community.”

CITF said the PPV at the SCCC has been open since 7th June. As of 17th July, a total of 230,000 people have been vaccinated at the SCCC.
