30 OCTOBER 2026, KUALA LUMPUR – LITE has officially crowned April Kuan as the winner of THE GEN X Factor, marking the culmination of a nationwide talent search aimed at discovering the next great radio personality. Following weeks of challenges, on-air appearances, and public voting, April emerged as the standout contestant, earning the opportunity to join LITE as its newest announcer.

The GEN X Factor was launched to uncover a radio talent 40 years old and above with passion, personality, and potential to connect with audiences both on-air and across digital platforms. The competition attracted aspiring broadcasters from diverse backgrounds, all competing for the chance to kickstart a career in the radio industry.

Throughout the competition, finalists were tested on key aspects of radio broadcasting, including live on-air presentation, talk set execution, emceeing skills and audience engagement. They also received mentorship from experienced LITE announcers, providing them with valuable industry exposure and insights into the evolving media landscape. 

Commenting on the campaign, LITE Brand Manager, Soraya Kee, said:

Throughout the competition, April consistently impressed listeners and judges with a natural on-air presence, authentic storytelling abilities and a strong connection with audiences. Supported by public votes, April emerged as the winner of THE GEN X Factor.

The victory secures April a one-year part-time contract as a LITE announcer, along with their own segment on a weekend show and a cash prize of RM1,500, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in broadcasting.

The grand finale, which was streamed live across LITE's TikTok, also brought together previously eliminated contestants who returned to show their support and celebrate the conclusion of THE GEN X Factor. Their presence reflected the camaraderie, friendships and shared passion for broadcasting that developed throughout the competition.
