During her speech, Yearwood, 60, recalled how McEntire, 69, was the first artist to show her kindness at an award show. “She sent me flowers at my first award show when no one even knew I was in the dressing room,” she shared. “I thought they were from my parents—then I saw they were from Reba.”

McEntire, who attended as a guest speaker, reminisced about meeting Yearwood at the ACM Awards. “I loved her immediately—she was sitting with her mom,” she said. “Girls in country music stick together. We support, complain, and celebrate with each other because nobody else understands.”

Yearwood emphasized that despite misconceptions, female country artists uplift one another. “From every generation, we’re all for each other,” she said.

Carly Pearce also spoke at the ceremony, while Yearwood’s husband, Garth Brooks, sat proudly by her side. Earlier this month, Yearwood and McEntire performed together at Opry 100: A Live Celebration.
