SUKMA To Proceed With Half Its Original Budget

This year’s Sukma Games will go ahead as scheduled in August despite ongoing global economic uncertainty.

However, the Selangor govt says the competition’s budget will be cut by half, to around RM40m – RM50m.

Among other things, the opening and closing ceremonies will be scaled down, while the number of volunteers will be cut from 30,000 to only 5,000.

However, the cost cuts will not affect competition standards.
