Paraguay, Morocco Score Stunning Victories

Germany have crashed out of the football festival in North America. 

This, after the four-time champions were beaten 4-3 by Paraguay in a sudden death penalty shootout in the last-32. 

The match finished 1-1 at the end of extra-time.

This is also the first time in the tournament’s history that Germany has ever lost a penalty shootout.

Paraguay, meanwhile, now await the winners of the other last-32 tie between France and Sweden.

Another match this morning saw Brazil fight back from a goal down to beat Japan 2-1, with Gabriel Martinelli netting the winner deep into injury-time.

The Selecao will now face either Norway or the Ivory Coast in the last-16.

Morocco have also advanced to the last 16, netting an injury time equaliser before eventually beating the Netherlands 3-2 on penalities this morning. 

The result sets up a quarterfinal showdown with co-hosts Canada on July 5th.

Bournemouth insist their midfielder Alex Scott is not for sale, amid an attempt by Arsenal to sign the 22-year-old.

Man City have officially appointed Enzo Maresca as their new manager, taking over from Pep Guardiola.
