Gold Target Achieved!

The Malaysian contingent enjoyed a double gold medal haul at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games yesterday.

The latest medals came via weightlifter Muhammad Hafizuddin Roslin and para long jumper Datuk Abdul Latif Romly…whose achievements now mean the national contingent has successfully hit its five-gold medal target.

Malaysia also picked up two silver medals from lawn bowls, and added another bronze via the para long jump.

This moves us up to sixth in the overall medal standings with five gold, two silver and three bronze.

Malaysia remains on course to make the semis of the ASEAN Football Championship, after a 4-0 win over Laos. 

It was the national team’s second successive win after also beating Myanmar in their Group B opener.

Harimau Malaya will next face bitter rivals and seven-time champions Thailand this Saturday.
