The new work-from-home policy for civil servants has led to over half a million ringgit in fuel savings.

This, after the scheme was implemented last week involving over 150 thousand civil servants.  

The Communications Ministry says officials are working on obtaining a more accurate assessment of total fuel savings.  

As such, the Chief Secretary to the govt has been tasked with getting similar info on private sector employees who are working from home.

In a related development, civil servants in Penang will not work from home for now.  

The state executive council explained that it decided not to implement the policy following a comprehensive assessment of operational needs and service capacity.

Malaysia’s food supply and pricing remain stable for the time being.

The Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority assured that there is no immediate cause for alarm despite the ongoing global energy crisis.  

It's because there is currently no indication of a significant impact on supply chains or market prices.

Also, the authority has not received many reports regarding food shortages.

It clarified that any issues identified so far have been isolated incidents
