There could soon be new direct messaging restrictions for social media users under the age of 16.  

The Malaysian Cyber Consumer Association says such a move is the most effective digital shield against cyber predators in Malaysia. 

It explained that doing so can help create a clear digital boundary between adult and child profiles.  

This, following a special operation by the police last month which uncovered nearly half a million files containing child sexual abuse material.

Public transport usage has increased...with average daily rail passengers rising by over 7% in April compared to the previous month.
