Selangor: 1,100 PPS Ready To Handle Floods

Selangor has identified over 1,100 locations that will serve as temporary shelters for the Northeast Monsoon foods.

The state government says authorities have also mobilised personnel, rescue assets and flood monitoring systems throughout the state.

56 flood hotspots and 230 flood-risk areas have been identified.

Meanwhile, the Selangor Menteri Besar says the bridge that collapsed due to flash floods near Kampung Kubu Gajah, Sungai Buloh, this morning was an ageing structure that could no longer cope with fast-moving water.

He adds that a temporary bridge will be installed soon, before a permanent replacement is built next year.

And according to JKM's figures, nearly 390 people are currently housed at temporary flood shelters in Shah Alam, while 20 displaced in Gua Musang, Kelantan
