Schools Stepping Up Safety Measures

Schools could soon station guards or Rela personnel to improve security and safety. 

The Education Ministry says its prepared to consider such a proposal, in the wake of two traffic accidents that resulted in the death of students at schools in Kelantan and Johor over the past month.

The ministry adds that its currently going over several plans and suggestions to improve safety for students and teachers, with the help of a panel of experts from different backgrounds.

Separately, the Education Ministry’s Institute of Teacher Education has opened an investigation into claims of bullying at its Kuching campus.

This, following claims that several seniors had forced their male juniors to squat and perform indecent acts in front of the other students.

Malaysia is now ranked third in Southeast Asia for the highest number of exploit-related cyber attacks.

This refers to a program or code created by hackers that takes advantage of vulnerabilities in software to gain unauthorized access to a system.

According to data from a cybersecurity firm we recorded over 400 thousand exploit-related detections last year…which is a 40 percent year-on-year increase.

The Transport Ministry says it will hold talks with the Home Ministry soon, over the congestion along the heavy vehicle lane on the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link that is said to be caused by mandatory inspections at the Sultan Abu Bakar Complex.
