Reminder: Inform The Police Of Your Balik Kampung Plans

 

People have been reminded to inform the police if they plan to balik kampung for the Aidilfitri holidays.

PDRM says they can fill up the form at the nearest police station, or via the Volunteer Smartphone Patrol app.

Doing so will help cops conduct routine patrols around their residential areas, to help prevent break-ins and other crimes.  

Cops add that some 6,000 personnel will be tasked with patrolling residential areas and hotspots during the festive period.

The Education Ministry will consider implementing Work from Home, and Home-Based Teaching and Learning for its staff and students.  

It will discuss the matter next week, after the Cabinet decides on a proposed Work from Home initiative for public servants.  

This, as the govt said it’s considering work from home arrangements and other initiatives to help reduce energy costs due to the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.

Also, the Education Ministry will install CCTVs at over 300 of its boarding schools this year.

It says it must be done carefully, as authorities need to find a balance between safety and complying with privacy laws.

The Agriculture and Food Security Ministry has again assured that there is no need for panic buying, amid the Middle East situation.  

It's because country has enough supplies of essential foods like rice, chicken, and vegetables to last at least two months.  

The ministry will reassess our food stockpiles in May.

The General Operations Force will wait for a full report from the police before deciding on any action against a corporal who was detained over the shooting attempt targeting the Bukit Kayu Hitam AKPS commander recently.

The Transport Ministry will consider a proposal to introduce incentives for people to scrap their old motorcycles, similar to the current scheme for old cars.

Johor Bahru police have arrested a school headmaster, after a Year 1 pupil was allegedly assaulted and injured last Tuesday.

A weak 3.2 magnitude earthquake was detected off the coast of Batu Pahat, Johor yesterday evening, but there have been no reports of damage or casualties

And two divers who were reported missing off the coast of Pulau Redang have been found safe, after being adrift for 12 hours!
