PM: Aminuddin To remain as Negeri Sembilan MB will

The PM says Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun will continue serving as the Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar, following a decree by the Yang di-Pertuan Besar.

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim also ruled out the need for snap polls in the state, adding that the current political issue there is being resolved through legal channels.

This, after 14 BN state assemblymen withdrew their support for the MB.

Meanwhile, govt spokesman Datuk Fahmi Fadzil assured that the developments in Negeri Sembilan have not affected ties between the parties of the Federal Govt.

A teachers union wants schools to improve the ventilation system of classrooms amid the ongoing hot spell.  

KONGRES told Harian Metro that doing so will reduce the risk of issues like dehydration, fatigue and a loss of concentration.  

It also urged schools to ensure ready access to clean water supplies, and adopt more flexible and weather-appropriate uniforms.  

For the long term, it called on authorities to make schools buildings more climate-friendly, and have lots of shade.

This, as MetMalaysia placed KL and Gombak and Sepang, Selangor under its Level 1 heat alert, after they posted maximum temperatures of between 35-37 degrees celsius for at least three consecutive days.  

A similar alert is also in place for Perlis and 12 areas in Perak, Kedah, Kelantan, Sabah and Sarawak.

Selangor police say they will seek Interpol’s help to locate the co-founders of the controversial eHati programme, as cops believe they are still overseas.  

Arrest warrants were issued against the married couple late last year, after they failed to turn up in court to face charges over the controversial marriage counselling programme.  

Separately, the state police chief says Bukit Aman has taken over the investigation into an offensive social media post that insulted the Sultan of Selangor.
