Parents are being urged to pay close attention, if their kids are starting to use artificial intelligence as chat buddies or even friends.

The Communications Ministry says that while AI has its uses and advantages, it should not be a replacement for human interaction.

It adds if necessary, parents can seek assistance or intervention from their kid’s schools.

In a related development, the ministry says online content moderation cannot be left solely to AI, since artificial intelligence does not fully understand the nuances of the various languages spoken in Malaysia.

It adds that it is currently engaging the social media platforms over the matter.

The number of areas in Sarawak recording unhealthy air quality readings has risen to six.
