Children under the age of 16 are not allowed to open their own social media accounts...however, accounts managed by parents on their behalf will be permitted.

The Communications Ministry says this will help protect minors from online safety risks, including cyber predators.

Meanwhile, it also urged parents to be more attentive to their children's digital activities.

In fact, kids should not be using devices for extended periods without supervision.

The ministry explained that it's because devices are not babysitters, and that parents must understand their responsibilities.

The bill to limit the Prime Minister's term to 10 years should be passed by Parliament in the next session.

The government says it's confident the bill will be passed...despite it not receiving the two-thirds majority required earlier this week.

The DPM explained that it's because most of those who were absent during the voting process have expressed support for the bill.

In fact, two MPs have sent official letters explaining the reason for their absence, while several others have also informed the same verbally.

He adds that several lawmakers were stranded abroad due to the lack of flights, clarifying that it was just a coincidence that the situation at the time prevented them from attending.
