KKM: AI Is Not Your Doctor!

Don’t use Artificial Intelligence to diagnose medical conditions!

The Health Minister says it can be used to support public health initiatives, such as KKM’s AI programme to help people quit smoking and vaping.

But when it comes to diagnosing health problems, you must see a qualified... and human... medical professional.

Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad says relying on an AI chat box for self-diagnosis is very risky, as it could lead to delayed treatments and potentially harmful health consequences.

Separately, Dr Dzul says his ministry is fast-tracking a study on the implementation of electronic medical certificates, to help curb the use of forged sicknotes.

He said this after 5 people were arrested in Pekan, Pahang for their alleged involvement in a fake MC syndicate.

The minister also says the Malaysian Medical Council will lead the investigation into the syndicate, which allegedly used the stolen identities of registered doctors to issue such certs.

MetMalaysia is continuing to monitor the situation, after a weak 3.3 magnitude earthquake was detected off the coast of Batu Pahat, Johor early this morning.

Elsewhere, police have arrested two suspects over an alleged fake kidnapping plot.

The suspects are a woman in her 20s who claimed she was abducted for ransom, and her alleged kidnapper.
