The country’s rice supply is stable, despite the ongoing West Asia conflict.
The Agriculture and Food Security Ministry says there’s no need for hoarding or panic buying, as there’s adequate supply until at least the end of the year.
It’s calling on consumers to stick to their regular amount, warning that panic buying will only create a false perception of shortages, even when rice supplies are sufficient.

In a related development, the Fisheries Department says supplies remain unaffected by the West Asia crisis.
It explained that fishing operations are continuing normally, while there are also enough stockpiles.

Private companies looking to allow flexible work arrangements for their staff, need to do so in an orderly manner and based on clear guidelines.
The HR Ministry says this is to continue ensuring that the rights and welfare of employees are protected.
It also warned that employers cannot arbitrarily cut staff salaries or benefits when they implement flexible work, unless there is a new agreement involving changes to overall working hours.
