Focus On Stability, Not Election Rumours

Members of the public as well as politicians have been urged to focus on helping the country achieve economic stability amid the uncertain global situation.

The Prime Minister says this is the government’s priority at the moment, adding that now is not the time for politics.

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said this amid talk about an impending general election.

Meanwhile, the PM adds that several large-scale projects will be put on hold due to the rising costs caused by the conflict in West Asia.

However, he assured that any projects directly benefitting the rakyat will continue.

In a related development, the Higher Education Ministry is studying the appropriate measures to take to help the campus community, particularly students, cope with the effects of the global energy crisis.

It says its already met with representatives of student groups, who’ve presented ideas and proposals on how to handle any potential increase in prices, especially food and daily necessities.

Kota Setar in Kedah is now under a Level 2 heatwave warning…with expected temperatures of between 37 and 40 degrees Celsius for three consecutive days.

According to the Met Department, a further 17 other areas in Kedah, Perak, Perlis, Kelantan, Pahang and Johor…are also under a Level 1 heat advisory.
