President Donald Trump has temporarily replaced the iconic Resolute Desk in the Oval Office, just days after a viral incident involving Elon Musk’s 4-year-old son, X Æ A-Xii.

During a February 12 White House press conference, where Musk joined Trump to discuss the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), young X was caught on camera picking his nose while standing behind the Resolute Desk. The moment quickly spread online, fueling widespread amusement.

On Febriary 19, Trump took to Truth Social to announce the temporary replacement of the desk, though he did not directly reference the viral moment. "A President, after election, gets a choice of 1 in 7 desks," he wrote. "This desk, the 'C&O,' which is also very well-known and was used by President George H.W. Bush and others, has been temporarily installed in the White House while the Resolute Desk is being lightly refinished—a very important job. This is a beautiful, but temporary replacement."

Trump, known for his germophobia, made no public comment on X’s Oval Office antics but did praise the toddler at the press conference. "This is X, and he's a great guy—high IQ," he told reporters.

Musk's visit with his son came just days before news broke that conservative influencer Ashley St. Clair had welcomed a baby, reportedly fathered by Musk—his 13th child. While Musk has not publicly commented on the birth, St. Clair’s representative issued a statement urging him to acknowledge his parental role and finalize their agreement regarding the child’s well-being and security.
