The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) has cautioned that anybody attempting to cross state borders to return home for the Ramadan festival would face serious consequences.
Datuk Zainal Abidin Kasim, director of the Bukit Aman Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department, said his department would conduct strict inspections at every roadblock and only those with complete travel documentation would be able to cross the state.
“If there are any who do try crossing the state borders, no advice will be given but legal action will be taken against individuals found to be violating standard operating procedures (SOP),” he said.
Datuk Zainal Abidin went on to say that there are approximately 35 roadblocks held at every entry and exit from states, as well as state borders across the country.
