On December 4, Sundaydo HQ posted a video sharing the story of a middle-aged woman who visited their shop to buy a piece of cake. When the staff learned it was her birthday, storefront employee Eryn offered the cake for free. Despite the offer, the woman insisted on paying, but Eryn refused to accept her money.
"After a few minutes, we realized the aunty was celebrating her birthday by herself, blowing out the candles alone," the caption of the video read.
She then mentioned she planned to visit a nearby shop for a while, giving the team an opportunity to plan a surprise.
"When she left, the team eagerly started preparing for a surprise celebration," the post continued.
When the aunty returned, she offered some biscuits to Eryn as thanks for the free cake, unaware that the team had a surprise in store.
"The team was moved as we sang Happy Birthday, with some employees wiping away tears," Sundaydo HQ shared.
The aunty, visibly touched, also wiped away her tears with a tissue.
"Seeing her smile and feeling her happiness through our cakes and our gesture is what motivates us every day," the team added.
This just shows there are still good people out there. As the saying goes, "Not all heroes wear capes; sometimes, they serve you cakes."
