Many Malaysians have received their first appointment notifications to voluntarily receive AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccines via the MySejahtera app.
After they successfully registered and secured a slot for the vaccine, many shared screenshots of the appointments on social media.
"I got mine sir, 10 minutes walking from my hostel! Thank you!” Twitter user HadzWadi tagged Minister Khairy Jamaluddin on Twitter.
Another user Damian Zola said, “YB, this is a great success on your part. I just got my notification and couldn't have been happier. Thank you. I hope you build on this momentum and make sure our country attains herd immunity as soon as possible.”
However, some Malaysians are still eagerly waiting.
According to Steve Soon, he has been checking since early morning and is hoping for a confirmation soon.
"Some people should be waking up to their AZ appointments in their MySejahtera app. These are progressively being pushed out throughout today. Any issues please reach out to @JKJAVMY," said Khairy on Twitter.
He also informed that Malaysia is set to receive a million more doses this month via Covax.
"We will expand the opt-in in other states (except Sarawak which has declined) and ensure those without access to the Internet etc can also sign up," he added.
