If you’ve watched the movie, Crazy Rich Asians, chances are you’ve heard her voice.
Malaysian singer Cheryl Koh, better known for her stage name, Cheryl K, recently auditioned for the 19th season of the popular reality singing competition, American Idol.
The episode, which aired on March 7 in the US, saw the singer shot to stardom in front of judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie.
The best part was, she got to do a duet with one of her idols, Lionel Richie. They performed a duet of the classic Endless Love and it was an amazing rendition.
The legendary singer tweeted a snippet of her audition with the caption: “You brought tears and wonderful memories to my eyes today,”
Unfortunately, Cheryl did not make it through to the next round.
Cheryl is based in Los Angeles. Pursuing a career in the music industry, Cheryl first shined in 2018 when she sang the opening song of Crazy Rich Asians, a cover of the classic Motown song, Money (That’s What I Want) by Barrett Strong.
This is an amazing feat, keep on doing what you love Cheryl, and never give up on your dreams!
