It’s finally been proven that exercise makes you happier than having money!
Well, that’s according to results of a recent study by Yale and Oxford that was published in The Lancet, a weekly peer-reviewed general medical journal.
Researchers of the study collected data about the physical behavior and mental mood of over 1.2 million Americans.
The participants were given a series of questions to answer, including “how many times have you felt mentally unwell in the past 30 days”, and it was found that those who have a more active lifestyle tend to be happier overall.
It was found that people who exercise regularly tend to feel bad for an average of 35 days a year while non-active participants felt bad for 53 days on average.
It was also found that team based sports or sports which allows you to have more social interaction with others tend to have more of a positive effect on your mental health compared to others.
Are you generally an active person? What’s your favourite sport? Let us know!
