Contact lenses are great. They're easy to use and convenient, especially when you're playing sports. However, they are only healthy if you practise these habits when using them:

#1 Do not wear your lenses to sleep

Sleeping with your lenses on will only increase the risk of contracting eye infection. It makes your eyes drier and more infection-prone. 


#2 Do not wear your lenses when you swim

Pool water has high amount of chemicals and microorganisms, so wearing your lenses while swimming could expose them to these. Furthermore, your lenses are like petri dishes where bacteria could grow and harm your eyes.

#3 Wash your hands before removing your lenses

Your lenses are the closest things to your eyes. Having bacteria on your lenses is equivalent to having bacteria on your eyes. 


#4 Do not put on contact lenses in the bathroom

Water can enter your contact lenses case through the moist air in the bathroom, which is also an ideal condition for bacteria growth. 


#5 Dry your hands before putting on your lenses


#6 Clean your lenses everytime before you put them on

Rinse the lenses with the solution and gently rub the lenses for a few seconds before putting them on. This will help remove remaining dirt from the lenses.
