Harry Kane told to leave the past and move on
Sep 22, 2021
Tottenham manager Nuno Espirito Santo is hoping Harry Kane will buck up in tomorrow’s EFL match against Wolves.
Santo believes Kane is still affected by his failure to secure a move away from Spurs in the summer, and urged the striker to put the past behind him and focus on the present.
The England captain has yet to score a single goal this season
Timo Werner gaining confidence with Romelu Lukaku’s help
Chelsea’s underperforming forward Timo Werner has been tipped to excel in tomorrow’s EFL Cup match against Aston Villa.
Blues boss Thomas Tuchel says the striker is slowly but surely regaining confidence on the pitch after a lackluster performance last season.
Tuchel attributed this in part to Werner’s budding partnership with new signing Romelu Lukaku.
Benitez still happy despite disappointing EFL loss
Everton manager Rafa Benitez is happy with his squad’s performance, despite this morning’s disappointing EFL Cup result against QPR.
The 8-7 defeat on penalties means the Toffees are out of the tournament, but Benitez is not discouraged, saying his players showed character and attitude on the pitch.
He adds, the current focus for his players is to rest and recuperate ahead of this weekend’s Premier League match.
