malaysia is off to a flying start at the thomas cup

Our men’s shuttlers have opened their Thomas Cup campaign with a 5-0 win over Canada.

Lee Zii Jia delivered the first point for Malaysia…before Cheam June Wei, Ng Tze Yong, Nur Izzudin Rumsani-Soh Wooi Yik and Aaron Chia- Goh Sze Fei all won their matches.

With England pulling out of the competition earlier…the win has earned Malaysia a place in the quarterfinals.

We will next take on Japan…to determine who tops the group.

Cristiano Ronaldo has become the first male footballer to net 10 international hattricks.

He scored three times in Portugal’s 5-0 win over Luxembourg in the World Cup qualifiers.

It also means Ronaldo has now netted 52 goals in his last 51 matches for his country.

Meanwhile, England have slipped up in their bid to qualify for the 2022 World Cup, after they were held to a surprise 1-1 draw by Hungary at Wembley.

It leaves Gareth Southgate’s side three points ahead of Poland…with two qualifiers to go.

Man United are facing a defensive crisis ahead of the resumption of the EPL this weekend.

Raphael Varane has been ruled out for several weeks with a groin injury…joining fellow defender Harry Maguire on the sidelines.

United will take on Leicester this weekend, before games against Liverpool, Spurs and Man City.
