The home side fell behind after 53 minutes, only for Alex Telles to equalize before Ronaldo netted the winner deep into injury-time.

In other selected results, Juventus edged past Chelsea 1-0 in Italy…with Federico Chiesa netting the winner 10 seconds into the second half.

Benfica shocked Barcelona 3-0…with the Catalan side losing their opening two matches for the first time.

While Bayern Munich hammered Dynamo Kiev 5-0.

Football’s prestigious Ballon d’Or award will be held at the end of November, having been canceled last year because of the pandemic.

The nominees will be announced next weekend.
