Liverpool, Bayern Expect To Miss Out On Alonso

Mar 29, 2024

liverpool, bayern expect to miss out on alonso

Liverpool have reportedly given up on their bid to bring Xabi Alonso in as Jurgen Klopp’s replacement this summer.

This, amid growing expectations that the Spaniard will stay with Bayer Leverkusen, who are currently favourites to win the Bundesliga title.

Even Bayern Munich – the other club that’s trying to sign Alonso – has accepted that the 42-year-old is more inclined to remain at Leverkusen, given their current success.

---

Arsenal have reportedly identified 10 potential striker targets for the upcoming summer transfer window, including Brentford's Ivan Toney and Napoli's Victor Osimhen.

---

Malaysian men's singles shuttler Leong Jun Hao and the doubles duo of Ariff Junaidi/Yap Roy King will be in quarterfinal action today, at the Madrid Badminton Masters.

---

And a return to Formula One for veteran Sebastian Vettel appears to be off the books for now, after the four-time world champion said his current focus is on his family.
