Man City have beaten fellow EPL title-contenders Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge.

Gabriel Jesus netted the winner to end the Blues’ unbeaten start to the season.

The result also helped the reigning champions leapfrog Chelsea into second place in the standings on goal difference.

The win was Pep Guardiola’s 221st for City in all competitions.

It makes him the most successful manager in Man City’s history…moving past club legend Les McDowall.

Elsewhere, Bruno Fernandes missed an injury-time penalty as Man United fell to a 1-0 home defeat against Aston Villa.

This was Villa’s first victory at Old Trafford in 12 years.

In other selected EPL results…West Ham defeated Leeds 2-1

Everton beat Norwich 2-0

Brentford held Liverpool to a 3-3 draw

While Leicester played out a 2-2 draw with Burnley.

Over in Spain, Atletico Madrid missed the chance to move top of La Liga…after suffering their first league defeat of the season in the 1-0 loss away to Alaves.

This, as leaders Real Madrid and Villarreal played out a goalless draw.

Over in the Serie A…Daniel Maldini became the third generation of his family to score for AC Milan…in their 2-1 win over Spezia.

The 19-year-old is the son of former Milan captain Paolo Maldini…and grandson of ex-player and manager Cesare Maldini.

Another match saw Inter Milan’s 18-game home winning streak come to an end…as they drew 2-2 with Atalanta.
