Klopp Doesn't Want A Violent Merseyside Derby

Apr 24, 2024

klopp doesn't want a violent merseyside derby

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has told his players they MUST keep calm and avoid getting sent off in tomorrow morning's EPL clash at Everton.

He believes it will be a very tough game, due to Everton's fight against relegation.

Matches between the two clubs are usually very intense, with 23 red cards handed out throughout the history of the Merseyside Derby.

This makes it the fixture with the most red-cards in the Premier League.

--

Feyenoord have played down recent reports that Liverpool are eyeing their manager Arne Slot.

The Dutch club says Slot is contracted until 2026 and is confident he will honour the deal.

Slot is the latest manager to be linked with the Merseyside club after Xabi Alonso committed himself to Bayer Leverkusen, while their interest in Sporting Lisbon's Ruben Amorim apparently died down.

--

Man City will reportedly allow as many as 5 senior players to leave this summer, amid a major squad overhaul.

They include Jack Grealish, Bernardo Silva and Kevin De Bruyne.

--

And Formula 1's CEO has hit back at drivers who criticised the sport for expanding the calendar to a record 24 races.

He says those who don't like it can always quit.
