Man Citeh Sets New Champions League record

Feb 14, 2024

man citeh sets new champions league record

Holders Man City set two new records, after they beat Copenhagen 3-1 in this morning's Champions League last-16 first leg tie.

They are the first-ever team to score at least three goals in seven consecutive matches in the competition.

City are also the first English side to win nine straight Champions League games, going back to their 2nd-leg semi-final second leg win over Real Madrid last season.

However, City are sweating on the fitness of Jack Grealish, who had an apparent muscle injury against Copenhagen.

He was making his first appearance since recovering from a hamstring problem.

Also in the Champions League, Brahim Diaz scored a second-half wonder goal to give Real Madrid a 1-0 win over RB Leipzig.

The Spaniard midfielder started in place of Jude Bellingham, who missed the game due to injury.

The Premier League has formally approved Jim Ratcliffe's purchase of a minority stake in Man United.

The English FA still needs to ratify the deal, which was announced at the end of last year.
