Footballers Union: Turn Stadiums Into Safe Spaces

Jan 12, 2024

footballers union: turn stadiums into safe spaces

The global footballers’ union wants authorities to step up security at stadiums, so that they can become safe spaces for players.

FIFPro said this, amid several cases of players being assaulted or verbally abused over the past few years.

In January last year, Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale was attacked by a supporter after their North London derby against Tottenham.

While in 2022, a Sheffield United player was head-butted by a fan.

This is in addition to scores players being racially abused.

Man City are confident that Erling Haaland is happy at City and is not looking to leave.

This, amid reports that Real Madrid could make a move for Haaland if they fail to sign Kylian Mbappe.

Newcastle's owners have warned that they could be forced to sell their players to help balance their books.

This is after the Magpies posted a £73 million loss for last season.
