Feb 11, 2024

qatar defends asian cup crown

Qatar have successfully defended their Asian Cup crown.

This is after the hosts beat Jordan 3-1 in last night's final, thanks to a hat-trick of penalties from Akram Afif.

The result means Qatar are the fifth team to win back-to-back Asian titles, having previously won it in 2019.

Liverpool have held on to top spot in the Premier League, after beating Burnley 3-1 at Anfield.

Meanwhile, boss Jurgen Klopp confirmed that Trent Alexander Arnold suffered another knee injury, after he was taken off at half-time.

Liverpool remain 2 points ahead of Man City, who beat Everton 2-0, but City have a game in hand.

--

And reports say former F1 world champion Fernando Alonso is campaigning to move to Mercedes next year, once Lewis Hamilton moves to Ferrari.
