Newcastle appoint Howe as new manager

Newcastle have appointed Eddie Howe as their next manager.

The ex-Bournemouth boss signed a contract until 2024 to take over from Steve Bruce.

Howe takes charge of the Magpies with the club second from bottom in the EPL standings…having taken just five points from their last eleven matches.

Frank Lampard has held talks about possibly taking over as Norwich City manager.

Insiders say the discussions have been very preliminary – and was merely a chance for both parties to find out more about each other.

Lampard has been out of a job since leaving Chelsea in January this year.

Man United, Man City, Tottenham and Chelsea have all been approved to introduce safe standing areas for supporters inside their stadiums.

Grounds in the first and second tiers of English football have been required by law to be all-seater venues since 1994… due to safety concerns.

Chelsea’s EPL game against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge this coming January will be the first top-flight match in nearly 30 years to have standings fans.

Lee Zii Jia may have to skip the upcoming Indonesian Badminton Masters.

National singles coach Hendrawan says the shuttler is still recovering from the back injury he sustained in the Hylo Open final over the weekend.

Hendrawan also said that Zii Jia is mentally tired…having played in several back to back tournaments recently.
