Liverpool have extended their lead at the top of the EPL standings after a commanding 4-1  win over Chelsea at Anfield this morning.

The Reds are now five points ahead of second-placed Man City…although the defending champions have a game in hand.

This, as City recorded a routine 3-1 victory over Burnley.

Another match this morning saw Tottenham move back into the top four, after edging past Brentford 3-2.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have announced that Jurgen Klopp’s final season at Anfield will be the subject of an upcoming documentary series.

It comes after the Reds boss announced last week that he will be stepping down at the end of the current campaign.

-

Closer to home…Japan have booked their place in the quarterfinals of the Asian Cup after a comfortable 3-1 win over Bahrain.

The Blue Samurai will next face Iran, who advanced to the last eight after a 5-3 penalty shootout victory over Syria.

-

Malaysia have fallen to a 5-2 defeat to the Netherlands, in the final of the men’s Hockey 5’s World Cup in Oman.

-

And, Petronas has denied recent reports that it is trying to bring Formula One back to Malaysia in 2026, clarifying that there have not been any discussions on the matter.
