Good news for Federal civil servants!

PM Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad says the government will be giving out a special financial aid of RM 450 to government staff in conjunction with Hari Raya.

He says the aid will only go to those holding Grade 56 and below.

While, government retirees will also receive RM 225 as a token of appreciation for their services.

The payout will be made next Friday.

Teachers may soon get incentives to futher their education!

The Education Minister says it is in discussion with the Public Service Department, to give educators a chance to obtain Masters and PhDs.

Besides this, he says his Ministry has agreed to provide insurance coverage for teachers, who accompany students on field trips.

The insurance will be covered by the ministry.

This, in conjunction with Teacher's Day today.

11 more AWAS cameras on North-South Highway


There will be 11 more Automated Awareness Safety System cameras installed at accident-prone locations to improve road safety.

The Deputy Transport Minister says the initial costs of installing the cameras along the North-South Expressway will be borne by PLUS.

However, he says the Ministry hasn't decided on the exact locations of these additional cameras, but one of it will be at the Menora Tunnel in Perak.

There are 19 cameras installed and operated by JPJ currently.
