govt urged to reopen borders by jan at the latest

The National Recovery Council wants the government to reopen our borders to foreign tourists by January next year at the latest.

Its chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin says it is to speed up the recovery of the tourism sector, which has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.

He said this, after considering the country's high vaccination rate.

Currently, 95% of Malaysia's adult population has already completed both doses.
