Air quality in parts of the Peninsula and in Sarawak remains unhealthy!

State Education Departments have the right to instruct schools to close if the haze situation worsens.

The Education Ministry says it's because they are more aware about the weather and safety in their particular area.

So far, over 400 schools in Sarawak have been closed due to haze.

At last look, 19 areas recorded 'unhealthy' air quality readings in the Klang Valley, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Johor and Sarawak.

Meanwhile, 14 UPSR candidates at a school in Pontian, Johor had to be moved to a different school due to hazardous smoke from peat fires at a nearby farm.

However, the research, found there was no such association for either more frequent or longer naps.
