US embassy warns citizens in Malaysia to be careful

The US embassy in Malaysia has warned its citizens here to be extra careful about their safety.

This follows the first sucessful IS attack in Malaysia in the form of a grenade attack in Puchong last week which injured 8 people.

However, it assured there is no specific threat from terrorist organisations towards US citizens currently in Malaysia.

Meanwhile, Mara has warned its sponsored students studying here and abroad of expulsion, if they're found to have links to terror movements.

This follows reports of some Mara students studying in the US being involved in militant groups.
