Over 6,300 road accidents in Ops Selamat's first 4 days
Jul 04, 2016
More than 6,300 road accidents were recorded nationwide in the first 4 days of 'Ops Selamat'.
The number is 10.7% higher than last year and Bukit Aman has blamed the hike on the selfish attitude of motorists.
Most of the accidents happened in Selangor with 16 of them fatal, while KL, Johor, Penang and Perak also had high accident rates.
Police have also issued over 70,000 summonses over the past 4 days for various offences.
Over in Penang, police have arrested 6 people for driving under the influence of alcohol under Ops Selamat.
