Police deny issuing IS security alert in Klang Valley
Jul 08, 2016
The police have denied issuing a security alert warning the public to stay away from a list of 9 locations in the Klang Valley that are purportedly targeted by IS militants.
The IGP clarified this on his official Twitter account, saying the alert did not originate from the police force.
The alert claimed the govt said IS would mount an attack on the places in the list, which included tourist attractions in KL.
Meanwhile, Bukit Aman's corporate comm told us the public should only rely on verified info from the police, rather than being taken in by social media rumours.
It adds, in general, the police have stepped up security in all places of interest.
