DPM warns those who surf IS paper

Jul 12, 2016

The public has been reminded against viewing or downloading articles from an online newspaper believed to be published by the IS militant group.

The DPM says the Special Branch is monitoring activities related to the Malay language edition of the paper, although they've yet to get their hands on a hard copy.

Meanwhile, the Johor government has warned that it will cut off financial aid to local students in the Middle East, if they are found to be involved in terror activities.

Still on the matter, a proposal to impose visa requirements on visitors from the Middle East to Malaysia is set to be discussed in the Cabinet meeting tomorrow.

The idea, mooted by the National Security Council, is aimed at curbing the spread of the IS threat in Msia.
