Video of boy knocked down in traffic incident sparks online debate

Jul 14, 2016

A video circulating online has sparked a heated online discussion about pedestrian safety, after it showed a boy being knocked over by a car in Jurong West, Singapore.

The boy had dashed out onto the road, appearing not to have checked properly for oncoming traffic.

According to Singapore's Straits Times, while some blamed the boy for being careless, many slammed the driver for appearing not to have offered any help to the boy, who was sent flying due to the impact.

Fortunately, the boy appeared to have escaped serious injury and was seen being helped up by passers-by.
