PADU Is Still Free

The Economy Ministry has reminded that the PADU registration process is free.  

As such, it says people don't have to resort to using so-called agents, who offer to help with such registrations for a fee.  

The Ministry says using such services will be a waste of money, and adds that it could also put your personal info at risk.  

It also says registrations are done on the PADU website, and if you need help, you can contact the nearest Department of Statistics office.

The Education Ministry says there has been a huge drop in our school dropout rates, thanks to several govt initiatives.  

Deputy Minister Wong Kah Woh says among others, it introduced several assistance programmes for students, especially for the poor.   

This, and other initiatives reduced the dropout rate among primary students to 0.06% last year, which is a drop of nearly 80% compared to 2017.  

During the same period, the dropout rate for secondary students fell by nearly 40%.

The deputy minister also reminded all education institutions to comply with labour laws, especially when it comes to wages. 

This, amid complaints that teachers at PASTI kindergartens were being paid below minimum wage.

MetMalaysia says Perlis; Pokok Sena and Kota Setar, Kedah; and Hulu Perak were all under a Level-2 heatwave alert today.  

33 other areas nationwide were under a less-severe Level-1 alert.

- The government has introduced its SolaRIS energy initiative, which encourages more Malaysians to install solar panels at their homes.  

- The Health Ministry has issued a compound to a trader at the Desa Pandan Ramadan Bazaar in KL for multiple health and safety violations after a piece of cloth was found inside a murtabak that he sold.  

- And according to Bukit Aman traffic police, there were 1,800 road accidents yesterday with 7 deaths.
