The government wants the police to publish data about road accidents every day! 

The Transport Minister says this daily reminder aims to drive home the fact that our accident rate, and the number of fatal accidents is too high. 

According to Anthony Loke, fatal accidents hit a 5-year high last year, with over 6,400 deaths.  

This means that on average, one person is killed in an accident every 80 minutes!

Also, the Transport Minister says the open payment system for public transport will be expanded to cover buses.   

He adds that such a proposal has already been in the pipeline for some time, and it will start with Rapid KL's bus services.   

It's expected to be ready towards the end of the year.   

The issue of an open payment system for buses made headlines recently, after a group of German tourists were unable to board a bus in Batu Caves, because they didn't have Touch ‘n Go cards.

Speaking of buses, DPM Datuk Seri Dr Zahid Hamidi says the use of dedicated bus lanes will be expanded to Jalan Klang Lama, KL starting in June this year.    

Currently, there are bus lanes along Jalan Genting-Klang, and a portion of Jalan Ampang.

It is now compulsory for secondary schools, Teacher Education Institutes and vocational colleges under Education Ministry's purview provide pre-school classes...  

The Education Minister says this will help ensure that preschools are accessible for all parents, especially from the B40 group.

And the Court of Appeal has overturned the conviction and sentence of former Felda chairman Tan Sri Isa Samad over his 9 corruption charges linked to the purchase of property in Kuching, Sarawak.
