The Yang DiPertuan Agong has delivered his royal address at the opening of the first meeting of the third session of the 15th Parliament this morning.

His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim urged all MP’s to be on their best behaviour, and warned that any attempt to play politics or disrupt the country’s stability, will not be tolerated

This is his majesty’s first opening of Parliament, since being sworn in as the 17th Yang DiPertuan Agong last month.

Penang is the latest state to be affected by the ongoing heatwave.

Met Malaysia says central Seberang Perai in Penang…as well as Perlis, and parts of Kedah and Perak are under a level-one heatwave alert…with expected temperatures between 35 and 37 degrees Celsius for three consecutive days.

Police are advising members of the public not to participate in a planned march to the Parliament building tomorrow.

The KL Police Chief says the gathering does not comply with the Peaceful Assembly Act, since organisers have not submitted any official notification of the event.

The Prime Minister has given the Agriculture and Food Security Ministry as well as the National Action Council on Cost of Living, until March 20th to resolve the issue of paddy and rice prices.

Separately, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says the new civil service salary scheme will be expedited, before being sent to the Cabinet to be finalized.
