Floods: Minimal Disruptions For SPM Candidates

Jan 11, 2024

floods: minimal disruptions for spm candidates

No SPM candidates were forced to miss this week's Bahasa Melayu Oral exams because of the floods in Johor and Pahang.

The education minister says this is after some flood-affected candidates were relocated to hostels near their exam centres.

She adds the Ministry has not received any reports of schools or exam centers being closed due to rising waters.

Nearly 400,000 candidates are sitting for the SPM exams, from January 8th to March 7th.

Meanwhile some 5,300 people are currently at flood shelters in Johor while 750 are displaced in Pahang.

Penang has confirmed that school students in the state will return to their classrooms on Monday.

Most pupils there are currently having lessons from home, due to the state-wide water supply disruption.
