10 perak students expelled for alleged bullying case

Ten boarding school students allegedly involved in a bullying case in Perak have been expelled.

MARA says it hopes that the decision will not only serve as a lesson to those involved, but also to other students.

This follows a recent viral video, which showed a boy being punched by his peers.

It's believed that the alleged bullying case in Perak was triggered after the victim angered a student.

Police say initial investigations have found that the victim had advised one of the suspects to stop watching pornographic videos or the matter will be reported to school authorities.

Cops add that the victim is being treated at a hospital in Selangor. He is in stable condition with no serious injuries.

Education Ministry to beef up bullying complaint channels

10 perak students expelled for alleged bullying case

School students and parents will soon be able to lodge reports of bullying directly to the Education Ministry.

Its Minister Datuk Dr Radzi Md Jidin assures that any information will be kept confidential.

Meanwhile, Dr Radzi says stern action will be taken against administrators who hide bullying cases

This comes amid recent reports of alleged bullying incidents at schools in Perak and Pahang.
