Health DG: 24,000 daily infections projected in Sept

Malaysia is predicted to reach the peak of Covid-19 transmission in mid-September with 24,000 cases a day.

According to Sinar Harian, the Health Director General says they are projecting for the infectious rate to be 1.2 by then.

Currently, the country’s Covid-19 infectivity rate stands at 1.11.

The number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Malaysia has passed the one million mark.

This is after we confirmed a new record high of 17,045 infections yesterday.

There were another 92 fatalities.

All the 220 MPs are allowed to attend the special meeting of the Third Session of the 14th Parliament which begins today.

The Dewan Rakyat Speaker says the proposal to conduct a hybrid meeting had been deferred adding that it will not be discussed during the sitting.

Only matters set by the PM will be discussed and no other motions will be allowed. 

However, he assured that all MPs will be given space to raise questions and voice their opinions.
